Group & Team Coaching, Action Learning Sets, & Training for doctors and public health leaders
I mainly work 1:1 with individual clients. I also offer bespoke online Group Coaching and Team Coaching programmes, Action Learning Sets, and other developmental opportunities for groups of senior doctors, medical and public health leaders across the UK and internationally. These programmes are often combined with 1:1 coaching.
These are usually commissioned by an organisation or a local system on behalf of a cohort of people, or a team of their staff.
I have facilitated and led groups since the early 1990s, and am highly skilled in managing group dynamics while also paying attention to each individual.
Group coaching training sessions
Group coaching sessions involve both group learning goals and individual goals for each participant. I use coaching, mentoring and teaching methods to design and deliver a curriculum with bespoke educational content to meet the learning needs of the group and its individuals.
I help the commissioner and/ or participants to develop clear learning outcomes for the group, and I help each participant to identify their own learning outcomes.
I like to include a mixture of both 1:1 and group coaching sessions in my group coaching programmes where possible, to ensure that I am able to get to the heart of the needs of each individual participant.
I believe that human beings do their best work in teams, and that the purpose precedes the team. Teams can also lose focus and momentum over time and benefit from external facilitation to provide support and challenge to the whole team.
I offer bespoke team coaching programmes, ranging from Team Facilitation/ Development Days, Leadership Team Performance and Development Coaching, through to extended Leadership Development Training Programmes for senior and executive level teams.
I am also an Accredited Facilitator for the Real World Group’s world-leading Team 360′ assessments, which will enable your team to gain insight into their leadership, governance and behaviours, enabling the team to collectively develop and increase its impact.
The teams I coach are usually no more than 10 people in size in order to ensure a high level of both individual and group attention.
I will work with your team and/or team leader to develop the right coaching goals for the team’s needs, and will deliver a creative, engaging team coaching programme to ensure these goals are met.
Action learning sets (groups)
Action learning sets are a facilitated forum comprising around 3-6 people who do not usually work closely together but come together on a regular basis as peers to support and coach each other, and develop their leadership skills.
I am an experienced action learning set facilitator and can safely establish peer learning sets, and I will withdraw when the group becomes self-supporting.
Action learning sets do not include educational content delivery by the Coach, nor 1:1 coaching sessions.
