My tried-and-tested Career Coaching Programmes have helped hundreds of senior doctors in leadership roles and public health leaders to move forwards with clarity and confidence. My approach is evidence-based, structured, and also bespoke to your unique needs.
We can focus specifically on your short or long term career direction, making big or small career decisions including making changes to your current role, securing your next role, creating a portfolio career, and/or planning your later life career or retirement.
There are five steps in my Career Coaching Programme: Plan, Do, Study, Decide, Act. I will tailor your programme to your specific circumstances to enable you to gain peace of mind and to choose the best way forward. We can also work on your CV, professional profile (eg LinkedIn), jobsearch strategy, applications, and preparing for successful interviews.
I’m known for my world-class support during and between sessions, and however complex your situation and career, I will provide expert medical and public health career guidance, advice, and support. I will help you to make the best decisions for yourself, and to formulate a rewarding future career or peri-retirement plan.
As a medical or public health leader, you will be able to move forwards with clear next steps, a positive, re-focussed, energised outlook, and a high level of fulfilment and satisfaction, enabling you to step into the future with clarity and direction.
I can also help you to find a new career path, to set up your own independent consultancy, or transition into peri-retirement if required.
Career Coaching is more structured than Leadership Coaching as the focus is usually mainly on career direction and choices. However it can be part of a mixed leadership and career coaching programme: all my coaching programmes are bespoke to your specific needs, with clear needs assessment and goal setting at the start of our relationship together.
I am flexible around your unique needs, however an initial Career Coaching programme typically comprises 6 x 90 minute sessions (18 hours of CPD) as detailed below.

6 x 90 minute 1:1 Coaching Sessions with Dr Fiona Day
18 hours’ CPD certificate (2 hours per 1 hour coaching time)
Unlimited support from Fiona during your coaching programme by email, phone or Zoom
Work at a pace to suit your needs – your sessions can be any frequency between 1-4 weeks apart. If you need a more urgent programme, please let me know – I can create a bespoke programme, eg one full day, two half days.
Comprehensive Needs Assessment leading to Co-Formulation of your Coaching Objectives before our first session together (Objectives may be jointly agreed with your employer if desired)
Bespoke, evidence-based world-class coaching interventions tailored to your specific needs and goals focusing on leadership development, career direction, and/or wellbeing at work
Every session includes: session goal setting; review of experiential learning between sessions; work on session goal(s); reflection and summary of insights from the session; identification of specific between-session actions
Detailed post-session email summary of our conversation within 24 hours including my insights and learning resources to augment your Programme
Regular progress reviews
Exclusive access to Fiona’s carefully curated ‘Client Resources’ to enhance your learning (wider reading, recommendations, podcasts etc)
Pre- and post-session reflection & review process to help you to make the most of each session (in line with GMC/ FPH/ FMLM requirements for reflective practice)
Extensive use of over 100 self-directed, evidence based learning materials between sessions to build theoretical knowledge and experiential learning
7 days’ notice to reschedule a pre-booked session; book or reschedule your sessions directly using Fiona’s online booking system
Option to pay in monthly instalments for self funding clients
Online on Zoom or other platform of your choice
Optional 360′ (or self-assessment only) leadership assessment report (note we would need to use one of your 6 sessions for a 90 minute debrief session)
