Where appropriate, I will draw on my own Board level medical and public health leadership career and my expertise in system leadership and managing people in order to scaffold your skills development through mentoring as well as coaching in our partnership.

Leadership Coaching can also include any elements of Career Coaching as part of a mixed leadership and career coaching programme: all my coaching programmes are bespoke to your specific needs, with clear needs assessment and goal setting at the start of our relationship together.
An initial leadership coaching programme comprises a minimum of 6 x 90 minute sessions; sessions are typically 2-4 weeks apart. Following this, we can develop a bespoke longer term leadership development programme to support and stretch you over a longer period of time: many of my senior medical and public health clients work with me over a several year period as they navigate through highly complex and demanding leadership and career challenges.

Clear personal and professional goal setting at the start of your programme with mid-programme progress reviews; goals may be jointly agreed with your employer
Bespoke evidence-based coaching interventions tailored to your specific needs and goals focusing on leadership development, wellbeing, and/or career development
Every session includes: session goal setting; review of experiential learning between sessions; work on session goal(s); reflection and summary of insights from the session; identification of specific between-session actions

Coaching for doctors of medicine and public health leaders will have a sustained impact on your own leadership development as a physician, surgeon, public health leader, general practitioner leader, as well as impacting outcomes for patients, your colleagues, and wider populations and systems. I can also offer staff development and team coaching – these are organised via employers for a cohort of staff or a whole senior leadership team.
Coaching is the most effective form of medical leadership development and public health leadership development training available
While there are a number of leadership development training courses for doctors within medical CPD and public health leaders available, none of them address the personal self awareness needed to really flourish in your professional life as a senior public health or medical leader or medical manager at the depth or sustainability of 1:1 coaching. This depth of awareness and self regulation is at the heart of values based leadership for doctors and public health leaders, and underpins effective communication skill training, and leadership behaviours in the workplace.
While I do also offer courses and leadership skills training for physicians, surgeons, general practitioner and public health leaders for groups of staff, it is only through a high trust, high support 1:1 coaching partnership that I can really help you to develop the essential internal public health and medical leadership skills you will need to succeed in your medical leadership career or your public health career.
Adults learn best through experiential learning over time and all of my coaching and mentoring programmes for medic leadership development and public health leadership development are skill based, unique and bespoke to you and your personal and professional needs. All my coaching programmes are based on evidence based cognitive behavioural based training interventions and use adult development theory and leadership theory to enable you to develop a high level of skill in medical management and medical leadership for doctors of medicine, and your clinical healthcare and public health leadership skills now and into the future.
I also integrate mentoring approaches in my leadership development coaching programmes for doctors and public health leaders to teach new skills for your continuing professional development, advancing your level of skill within your medical speciality, surgical, general practitioner or public health specialty as a clinical leader of the future.
