Dr Fiona Day, Former Public Health ‘Educational Supervisor of the Year’ in Yorkshire and the Humber and internationally renowned Coach and Coaching Psychologist for senior public health leaders, has developed this Workshop for senior public health trainees as they prepare for their Public Health Consultant interview.
The Workshop is commonly commissioned by Postgraduate Medical and Public Health Schools to prepare for the Consultant in Public Health interview.
This course has been designed to be inclusive for participants who are neurodiverse.
Aim: To ensure participants are able to represent themselves effectively in their Public Health Consultant interview.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will:
- Feel confident to apply for Public Health Consultant leadership roles and to present themselves both accurately and effectively
- Understand what a Consultant role is likely to expect of them and what this means in terms of applying and securing their Consultant role including performing well in a competitive interview
- Consider their own performance and strengths, and other leadership development insights – and develop a unique, personal, compelling narrative to embody and communicate these in the application and interview process
- Gain insight into potential development needs and develop action plans around development needs
- Feel supported to perform to the best of their ability at a AAC Panel in competitive environment
- Be prepared for either securing the role or to manage emotions if not successful on this occasion
