The successful transition to public health consultant is a vital step for every Trainee. Dr Fiona Day is a former Yorkshire and Humber Public Health ‘Educational Supervisor of the Year’ (2015), and this programme was set up by request of Health Education England to support their senior Trainees to feel confident and empowered to step up into the role of new Public Health Consultant. It is commissioned by local Postgraduate Medical Deaneries & Schools of Public Health for a cohort of 8-10 senior trainees and can be adapted to suit your local or specific learning needs.
This course has been designed to be inclusive for participants who are neurodiverse.
Aim: To ensure a successful first year as a new Public Health Consultant.
Learning Objectives:
- to establish a safe confidential learning group
- to develop key leadership and management competencies and skills relating to the first year of Public Health Consultant practice
- to develop a personalised Leadership Development Plan
- to establish two Action Learning Sets per cohort for peer support and learning post programme
